Digital Artist Tony Washington joins Showcase judges

What do WORLD OF WARCRAFT, LADY GAGA, and Marvel’s SUPER HERO SQUAD have in common?

An artist with sterling credits in the video game, music, and comic book industries, Tony joins artists behind STAR WARS, RANGO, and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN to bring a state-of-the-art perspective to San Diego high school and middle school students. A Top Prize: Academy of Art Scholarship

The Academy of Art University, based in San Francisco and a pioneer of interactive online instruction, is offering a Pre-College Summer Program scholarship as one of this year’s top awards.  This consists of 4 Online Pre-College Art Classes to be selected by the recipient from the Academy’s Summer 2015 Online Class offerings.  The scholarship includes processing and course-related fees, for a total value of over $525.  Class details can be explored here.  Additional prizes are being finalized, and will be updated in the Prize highlights information.

Media Design Firms Step Up

Many of San Diego’s premier design and advertising firms have agreed to loan their top creative professionals to review student work in this year’s DiMA showcase.  Student work will be reviewed by industry leaders from L7 Creative, MiresBall Brand Design, Pierce, A7D Creative Group, and Digital Nexus.  Design firms can employ any form of digital art, though we expect our design firm pros will focus on Graphic Design, Website, and Photography entries.   Check out the Sponsors link for more about these firms, and the Judges page for background on the judges themselves.
